Little Grounders l Choosing Pajamas for Babies & Toddlers

Choosing Toddler and Baby Pajamas

Babies and toddlers require a lot of sleep. The pajamas they wear can affect the quality of their sleep and your peace of mind as a parent. You have a lot of options to choose from when selecting pjs for your kids. Here are some factors to consider when making your decision:

Safety

This is a big one. As a parent, keeping your children safe is always non-negotiable. Steer clear of sleepwear with strings, ties, buttons, or bows that could be potential choking hazards. No matter how cute those tiny embellishments are they’re certainly not worth putting your baby’s safety at risk.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, all children’s sleepwear, sizes 9 months to 14, must be labeled as either flame-resistant or snug-fitting (making it less likely to catch fire). It’s important to make sure the pajamas you choose for your kids adhere to this.

Little Grounders takes children’s sleepwear safety to a whole new level. Our innovative toddler clothing is designed to prevent your little one from climbing out of their crib - thus preventing bumps in the night due to a fall when your daredevil attempts to jailbreak (see our blog “How to Handle Toddlers Climbing Out of Crib”.

Comfort and Ease of Use

Your kids will sleep best when wearing pajamas that fit properly. Look for pjs made from material that is soft and smooth. Breathable fabric, which allows sweat to escape, can also be a tremendous help for keeping your babies comfortable as they sleep.

It’s not a must, but it’s nice if your baby pajamas allow for easy potty time - something you’ll definitely appreciate when a nighttime diaper change is needed. Choosing sleepwear that does not require special washing instructions is something else you’ll thank yourself for later.

Fashion

Let’s face it, appearances do matter. While the level of “cute” baby pajamas achieve isn’t as important as the other factors noted above, it does deserve some consideration. We all have fashion favorites regarding color, pattern, and style. Kids are no different and sometimes, the prospect of being able to wear the blue jammies (or not the blue jammies!) can make or break an overtired toddler’s nighttime routine.

Little Grounders garments are available in an assortment of fun colors sure to meet your little one’s demanding standards. Check out the Little Grounders catalog to see our collection!

Thanks for your question Ellen. Cotton is one the best fabrics for hot weather as it is soft, lightweight, breathable, and soaks up sweat, allowing heat to escape the body and for you to stay cool. Hope this helps.

Ellen

Are these for winter, what about hot weather?
